AQUACULTURE CERTIFICATION INFORMATION

WHAT IS THE AQUACULTURE CERTIFICATION?

The Florida Aquaculture Association Aquaculture Technician Industry Certification is awarded to individuals who have completed the following:

  1. Completed 75% of Aquaculture 2 (Florida Department of Education Standards) OR worked on an FDACS Division of Aquaculture certified aquaculture facility for over 150 hours 

​2. Passed the Florida Aquaculture Technician exam of 100 questions

     with a score of 60% or higher

 

Once an individual has taken the Aquaculture Technician exam:

​The Florida Aquaculture Association will send results to the proctor and/or administrator. If the individual met all requirements to earn their Aquaculture Technician industry certification, an electronic certificate will also be emailed to the proctor and/or administrator.

The Florida Aquaculture Association Aquaculture Technician Industry Certification test costs:

$95 per exam -1st time

$50 per exam up to 3 times

WHAT IS THE FLORIDA AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION?

The Florida Aquaculture Technician industry certification is an entry level certification into the aquaculture industry. Individuals that earn this industry certification have shown that they are  prepared and knowledgeable in todays' aquaculture industry.

WHAT IS THIS INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH?

The primary goal of this industry certification is to create better prepared individuals that are seeking employment within Florida's growing aquaculture industry. 

HOW WILL THE EXAM BE GIVEN? 

The exam is online through our testing platform, ClassMarker.com. If individuals are needing any accommodations for this certification, we will meet those requests. Please contact education@flaa.org.

HOW MUCH TIME DOES AN INDIVIDUAL HAVE TO TAKE THE EXAM?

All individuals have 100 minutes to take the exam. If an individuals has approved accommodations that require additional time, please contact education@flaa.org.

DOES THIS CERTIFICATION EXPIRE?

Yes, this certification will expire 5 years after the awarded date. This ensures that industry trends, new discoveries, and evolving methods are continuously updated. 

WHO CAN PROCTOR THIS CERTIFICATION?

Only a proctor that is approved by the FAA and/or the district/ school that this industry certification is being administered in, is allowed to proctor this industry certification. Remote proctoring is available for an additional fee. All proctors must submit their school/district forms annually prior to any industry certifications being administered.
